Cardiff Nando's makes the list as chain announces 54 more restaurants will reopen
Nando's has announced that it will reopen one of its Cardiff stores along with 53 others in the coming days.
The Portugese chicken chain was forced to close,with thousands of other bars and restaurants as a result of the coronavirus pandemic in March.
The company said will be reopening the branch in the Old Brewery Quarter in the city centre for takeaways only - and there will be a "small, reduced menu" in the initial stages.
Wales has entered its tenth week of lockdown restrictions which means people should only travel for essential purposes.
The health minister said he believes the Welsh Government has the support of the people as it takes a "cautious approach" to ease certain restrictions.
A law which compels all employers to make sure their workers keep two metres apart was introduced during the lockdown in Wales.
Nando's said social distancing will be adhered to in its kitchens and it has introduced a new collection procedure when orders are picked up.
It said staff will wear PPE on shifts at the restaurant, which is the latest in a long line of others who have also taken steps to reopen selected stores.
"The safety of our customers and our team is our highest priority, so we’ve been working hard over the past few weeks to develop new measures in line with government guidelines" it said in a statement.
Wagamama will also be opening their store in Cardiff city centre, whilst KFC drive-throughs and Starbucks also made the decision to return to work, which resulted in long queues for the popular takeaways.
