Grandfather dresses up in sumo suit to keep spirits high during self-isolation
An 80-year-old grandfather from Pontypridd has dressed up in a sumo suit as he tries to keep spirits high during self-isolation.
Vernon Goode recently celebrated his 80th birthday but had to cancel plans to go away with his family because of the coronavirus outbreak.
He was given the sumo suit for his 80th and he decided to wear it for a socially distant visit from his daughter Sue and grandchildren, Ben and Lowri.
They were visiting to deliver food to Vernon who is following government guidelines on staying at home.
Daughter Sue, who recorded the video, can be heard warning her father "before you have an injury, I think you'd better go in!"
Vernon plans to wear the suit through Pontypridd when the coronavirus outbreak is over.
