Staff at a Tesco store in Swansea stopped to applaud NHS workers as they arrived to do their shopping on Sunday morning.
Tesco is among a number of supermarkets - including Sainsbury's and ASDA - to announce a special shopping hour for NHS and social care workers, so they can join older and vulnerable shoppers in having less competition for restocked shelves.
The coronavirus pandemic has prompted many people to panic buy essential items, leaving supermarket shelves bare in some stores.

As the workers arrived at the Tesco Extra store in Llansamlet on Sunday, they found staff lining up on either side of the entrance and applauding them.
Staff at the Tesco store in Pengam Green, Cardiff also made a special effort to thank healthcare workers as they arrived to do their shopping on Sunday morning.
Dr Tim Rogerson tweeted a picture of a bouquet of flowers, and said: "Thanks to Tesco Pengam Green for the #nhshour and for the thank you flowers as we walked in".
