Man charged after 'serious' assault in Aberaman left man in 'life-threatening' condition
Police have charged a man in connection with a serious assault which left a man critically ill in hospital.
52-year-old Andrew John Davies, from Aberaman, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear at Merthyr Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.
Officers were called to the incident on Commerce Place, Aberaman, at around 8.50pm on Monday.
A 26-year-old man was taken to Prince Charles Hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward as the investigation continues.
