Man in life-threatening condition after 'serious' assault in Aberaman

South Wales Police is investigating a serious assault which has left a man critically ill in hospital.

Officers were called to an incident on Commerce Place in Aberaman at around 8.50pm on Monday.

The man remains in a life-threatening condition after being taken to Prince Charles Hospital with serious injuries.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene. A section of the street remains cordoned off while forensic enquiries continue.

Officers said they aren’t currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident but detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
