Michael Sheen pledges to bring Christmas lights back to Port Talbot
Hollywood actor, Michael Sheen, has said he will help fund Christmas lights for his hometown - Port Talbot.
Sheen pledged on Twitter to "match every pound donated" until they reach £10,000.
Neath Port Talbot Council stopped funding festive decorations for the borough in 2014.
Micheal Sheen shared the GoFundMe page set up by Aberavon RFC to gather donations for the town's Christmas lights.
The online donation page has already raised more than two-and-a-half-thousand pounds.
Since 2014, the lights have depended on donations as Neath Port Talbot Council withdrew their festive decoration funding. The council said they made the decision so they could reallocate the money to public services throughout the year.
Sheen's announcement was received well on Twitter with some users calling him an "angel". Others have also pledged to go halves or thirds with whatever the actor contributes.
The actor and activist grew up in Port Talbot and attended Neath Port Talbot College.
