Parents of Theo Treharne-Jones, 5, who died on Kos holiday 'woken by screams'
The parents of a five-year-old boy were woken by screams that a body was in a pool at their Greek hotel - and then discovered their son was missing, an inquest heard.
Theo Treharne-Jones was found in the swimming pool in Kos in a "tragic accident" on holiday with his family after wandering off alone before breakfast.
The hearing was told mother Nina and father Richard were "woken to screams that a boy had been found in a pool."
Coroner Rachel Knight was told in a written report from Greece that Theo was then discovered missing from their family rooms.
Theo, from Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, died in hospital on 15 June at the Atlantica Holiday Village in Kos.
Ms Knight, assistant coroner for South Wales Central, adjourned the inquest until later in the year and released his body for the funeral service.
She sent her condolences to the family who were not present at the opening of the inquest.
