Ian Rush: Champions League final will be 'amazing' for Wales
Wales' record goal-scorer Ian Rush has said he thinks the Champions League final will be "amazing" for Wales.
Cardiff will play host to the Champions League final at the Principality Stadium next year, expected to be the most high profile event held in the capital since the ground was first erected.
Speaking to ITV Wales News at the official launch yesterday evening, Rush described the announcement as a "great success".
An estimated 165 million people watched the Champions League final match between Real Madrid and Athletico Madird at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa in Portugal in 2014, with a similar number expected to tune in to Cardiff's version of the game next year.
