People living in Port Talbot fear the job losses will hit the town hard

People living and working in Port Talbot say today's announcement is dreadful news for the town and will hit the area really hard.

Tata announced this morning that 750 jobs will go at its Strip Products UK site in the town and later clarified that figure could include up to 150 roles at Llanwern in Newport.

Aberavon MP Stephen Kinnock said it's important that action is taken to keep the steel industry in Wales.

Local Assembly Member David Rees said he is seeking an urgent meeting with the First Minister and says the UK government must decide whether it wants a steel sector that can compete in the global market.
