An inquest has heard how the body of schoolboy Carywn Scott-Howell had to be identified by his mother after he fell off a cliff in the Alps whilst on a family skiing holiday.

A coroner's court was told how the seven year old died from multiple injuries 'consistent with a fall from a height.' Carwyn had become separated from his family on the slopes before falling off the cliff edge.

The family raised the alarm when Carwyn failed to appear at the bottom of the slope.

A search team found little Carwyn's ski's left at the top of the cliff in an 'out-of-bounds' area in the Flaine ski resort.

A helicopter had to be called in to retrieve his body from the bottom of the 160ft cliff.

The inquest into the schoolboy's death has been adjourned until June 22 and the family will now be able to hold a funeral for Carwyn who they described as a 'daring, outgoing, determined little boy.'
