Police are at the scene of a serious crash in east Belfast.

The Newtownards Road is closed between Connswater and Templemore Avenue.

Diversions are in place from Island Street/Dee Street Junction.

Police say it is likely to remain closed for a number of hours including at school pick up times this afternoon.

MP Gavin Robinson said his 'prayers are with those impacted by the tragic circumstances.'
