Conlan looks to Paddy’s Day bout after year ends on high
Michael Conlan may have ended his boxing year on a high, but he is already looking ahead to another St Patrick’s Day bout in New York City.
The Belfast man will head up the 17 March bill at Madison Square Garden for a third time.
It comes after his unanimous points win over Jason Cunningham on the undercard of Carl Frampton’s unfortunate title bid at the Manchester Arena at the weekend.
While Frampton lost out to his opponent, Conlan clocked up his 10th win of his professional career and secured the vacant WBO Inter-Continental featherweight title.
That left him looking forward to Christmas with the family, before his thoughts will turn in earnest to that night fight.
