Frampton to take time before considering next move
Carl Frampton has said he will take some time before considering his future after his second defeat as a professional boxer.
The Belfast fighter was left disappointed by his title clash with IBF featherweight world champion Josh Warrington in Manchester at the weekend.
The Jackal lost out after a gruelling 12 rounds which saw him soak up relentless flurries of punches from the Leeds man.
While Frampton tried to give as good as he got, he still trailed on the scorecards and would have needed a decisive knockout to have any chance at victory.
As it was, the judges found in favour of Warrington, with the scorecards reading 116-112, 116-112, 116-113.
Frampton remained, as ever, gracious in defeat – even pointing to his opponent before the result was even announced and then lifting him into the air as he celebrated.
Now, the 31-year-old former two-weight world champion says he will take some time and then sit down with his team to discuss his future.
“I’m just going to enjoy Christmas with my kids,” Frampton said.
“I’ve been involved in boxing a lot time, since I was seven-years-old, and the last year-and-a-half has been the best.
“I’ll sit down with my team and the people around me and we’ll make a decision.”
