Armagh take big win over St Mary’s in McKenna Cup
Armagh ran out the convincing 6-17 to 1-7 winners over St Mary’s University College, as McKenna Cup action continued in Crossmaglen on Sunday.
The Orchard County were never threatened, going 1-5 up – with Jack Grugan grabbing the opening goal – before St Mary’s added a point.
More goals followed in the first half for Armagh, from Jason Duffy, Stefan Campbell and Ryan McShane, while Grugan added another.
That left Armagh leading by 5-12 to just 3 points for St Mary’s at the break.
Connaire Mackin added a sixth goal for Armagh in the second half, before Ryan Coleman salvaged a goal for St Mary’s.
The Orchard County still took the 6-17 to 1-7 victory, with Jack Grugan named Man of the Match.
It comes after Fermanagh and Ulster University played out a 1-9 to 0-12 draw in Derrygonnelly on Saturday.
