Down tried to claw their way back into the game and got a few points on the board, but they still trailed 1-12 to 0-07 at the break.

Donegal powered ahead in the second half, with Jamie Brennan supplying their second goal of the game and adding a point straight after.

It was all up-hill work for Down and a goal from Niall Donnelly right at the death was simply too little too late.

Donegal will now face Fermanagh in the showpiece final at Clones on 24 June.
