Man who called police when his car got stuck on Tynemouth beach instantly regrets it

A driver has found himself in hot water after getting his car stuck on Tynemouth beach.

The man had been fishing on Tynemouth Longsands when he got his car stuck in the sand after driving it on to the beach on Thursday morning.

He called emergency services for help when the tide started coming in and they managed to bring the vehicle to safety.

Unfortunately for the caller, he was found to be driving without a licence and insurance and has been sent to court, police said.
