The new Wear crossing that will stand twice as high as Gateshead’s Millennium Bridge will undergo huge transformation in the coming weeks.

28 cable stays are to be installed as part of one of the final major milestones of the project that is due to open in Spring 2018.

Cable stays connect the bridge deck to the 105m high pylon and are covered in a protective, white sheath.
