Serious assault in Newcastle leaves man with head and chest injuries
Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Newcastle.
It happened around 3:35pm on Saturday 6 May.
Police were called to a disturbance involving a group of men in Throckley.
Officers attended the Newburn Road and Hallow Drive area, where they found a 20-year-old man had been assaulted.
He suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He was later discharged.
Two men aged 18 and 38 and two teenagers aged 13 and 15 were arrested following the assault and have been released pending further enquiries.
Extra patrols have been in the area since the incident to carry out enquiries and reassure any concerned members of the public.
Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to get in touch.
