Fans planning Gary Speed tribute during Leeds v Newcastle

Newcastle and Leeds United fans are planning to pay respect to Gary Speed when the two sides meet this weekend.

Speed wore the famous number 11 shirt for both sides, making over 400 combined appearances.

His death on 27th November 2011 shook the footballing world, especially supporters in the North East and West Yorkshire.

Members of the Speed family will be in attendance at Elland Road on Sunday and in the 11th minute of the match Leeds United is asking supporters of both teams to join together in a minute's applause as we near the fifth anniversary of Gary’s passing.
