Great North 10k winners announced

More than 5,000 runners have been pounding the streets of Gateshead for this year's Great North 10k run.

The event drew a range of participants, including 120 Gurkha soldiers

The top three men were:

• Sparrow Morley 34'27"

• Luke Duffy 34'45"

• David Cole 35'05"

The top three women were:

• Michelle Nolan 38'24"

• Mary Ferrier 40'19"

• Louise Talman 42'00"
