Great North 10k

Thousands of runners joined the Newcastle United Foundation and Great Run event to raise money for charities and promote fitness and good health.

The annual event will see runners lining up on the famous Great North Run Central Motorway start line for the first time.

Runners including Gurkha soldiers and charity fundraisers have been pounding the streets of Gateshead for this year's Great North 10k run.
