Mountain rescue team celebrates 50 years of saving lives
Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team is celebrating 50 years of saving lives.
The volunteers average around 45 search and rescue operations every year but say they are busier than ever.
Iain Nixon, Team Leader:
The volunteers are on hand to find people in remote locations and get them to safety.
The team has performed countless rescues over the last 50 years. These include the Morpeth floods and the Lockerbie bombing.
