Falmouth Coastguard was alerted to the incident at Sennen Cove on 6 August.

Hattie the seal was put to sleep on May 7 after her health deteriorated. She was found trapped between boulders in West Cornwall and was entangled in netting.

People using beaches across the West Country are being urged to make themselves aware of weather conditions before entering the water.
