Plans to extend Guernsey Airport's runway should be delayed until its surface has been strengthened, according to the island's Tourism Management Board.

Gatwick Airport is at a significant point in its bid for runway expansion but campaigners vow to go to court if the Government approves them.

Guernsey's Committee for Economic Development is considering adding a surface to the end of the runway that's designed to stop planes overrunning.
