Redcar has historic links with lifeboats, as the world’s oldest lifeboat, The Zetland, built in 1802, is on display in the town.

On Friday 9 April, the crew were called to rescue a man near Skinningrove. Sadly the man had lost his dog in the ordeal. Three days later they've been reunited.

The RNLI sent lifeboats from Redcar to a man and a woman who called for help on a mobile phone.
