Perseids Meteor

A powerful geomagnetic storm meant the aurora borealis were visible as far south as Cornwall.

The meteor shower began on Monday and will last for most of August.

This organised line of showers has brought some heavy pulses of rain and thunder this morning. The showers push eastwards this afternoon.
