There's an organised line of showers stretching through the Liverpool Bay area down into the West Midlands.

There have been some heavy pulses of rain along that, accompanied by rumbles of thunder in the last few hours.

This rain will push eastwards during the day to give a traditional mix of sunny spells and showers, the showers remaining heaviest in the West Midlands with a continuing risk of thunder. They will also be slow moving.
