An action group has criticised the decision to move the school a step closer to permanent closure by August 2026.

The council has opened a public consultation asking for feasible ideas to keep the school going after ruling out several options.

The North Tyneside school's finances and pupil intake pose a threat to the existence of the school, which could close in 2026 if no solutions are found.
