Heather Stanning

Somerset's rowing champion Heather Stanning, has announced her retirement from the sport, at the age of 31.

Two of our West Country rowers made history today as they became the first female British athletes to win back to back Olympic gold medals.

Heather Stanning and Helen Glover continued their solid pairing at Caversham, with Gloucestershire's Alex Gregory winning in the men's pair.
