Two seals rescued by the GSPCA animal charity last December have been released back into the wild from a Guernsey beach.

'Baby Shark' and 'Grinch' returned to the wild

A dog walker spotted the grey distressed seal on the rocks at La Pulente beach in St Ouen on Saturday 23 October.

The female grey pup was found malnourished with a suspected infection but also a very unusual coat.

A holiday maker had attempted to pet the seal on the head before being bitten

Members of the public are getting to used to spotting 'Sammy' on the beach. 

A newborn pup is being looked after by Cornish Seal Sanctuary after public activity on a beach in St Agnes frightened his mother away.

Several attempts were made to find the endangered seal but he was finally rescued this week.
