Caerlaverock

Up to 30,000 barnacle geese have once again travelled from Svalbard, north of the Arctic Circle to their wetland winter home at Caerlaverock nature reserve.

Caerlaverock Castle was a 13th century fortress and the site for a series of bloody battles.

Scotland's first trail of wetland animals made entirely from over 100,000 LEGO bricks has made its debut in Dumfriesshire.
