Stones 'will do everything we can' to help Jagger

Ronnie Wood has paid tribute to the late fashion designer L'Wren Scott, the long-term partner of his Rolling Stone bandmate Sir Mick Jagger.

In a message on his website, Wood also offered his support to his close friend, writing: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Mick and L'Wren's family and friends at this incredibly devastating and difficult time.

"As a band we are one big family and we've all come together to support Mick, and will do everything we can to help him.

"We are currently rescheduling touring plans. We thank everyone for their understanding.

"We are so grateful for the messages of support at this sad time - while we take the time that is needed. XR ."

Their fellow bandmate Keith Richards yesterday vowed to support his ‘soul brother’ Jagger, adding that “no one saw this coming.”

Scott was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on Monday. The Chief Medical Examiner of New York ruled that the 49-year-old died as a result of suicide by hanging.

It is "absolutely untrue" that L'Wren Scott was facing financial problems in the period leading up to her death, according to the editor of fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar.

Justine Picardie, who was a personal friend of the designer, told ITV News that Scott's business "was doing well" and had recently had a "very successful" collaboration with retailer Banana Republic.

Sir Mick Jagger has said he is "still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way" following the apparent suicide of his long-term girlfriend L'Wren Scott.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and singer Madonna were among those who paid tribute to the late L'Wren Scott.

Anna wrote on Vogue.com: ''I am deeply saddened by the loss of L'Wren Scot".

Madonna said: ''This is a horrible and tragic loss. I'm so upset. I loved L'Wren's work and she was always so generous with me.''

British supermodel Naomi Campbell also paid her condolences on WhoSay: "L'Wren was someone I always loved. She was the epitome of elegance and femininity yet still had a girlish quality."

The Rolling Stones have cancelled their planned concert in the Australian city of Perth after the death of the fashion designer L'Wren Scott, the longtime girlfriend of frontman Mick Jagger, the band's promoters said in a Facebook post.

The statement released by the Frontier Touring and Concerts West announced that The Rolling Stones concert in Perth will not be going ahead as scheduled for Wednesday 19 March 2014.
