Flash floods were seen in part of our region this weekend after heavy rain. Western parts of Dorset were particularly affected.

Former MP and Minister flooded in Dorset

Lord Knight of Weymouth has taken refuge in a nearby pub after his Dorset home was flooded earlier today. The former Labour Minister and South Dorset MP has tweeted a photo of his home. West Dorset saw three weeks of ran fall in just 12 hours earlier, causing flash floods in some parts.

River or road? Fire crews respond to flooding

Fire crews in Dorset have been called to more than 60 incidents today after heavy rain caused flash flooding - particularly in the west of the county. In this photo a rural road at Long Bredy near Abbotsbury looks more like a river, whilst a coastguard helicopter surveys the flooding.

A prankster has left a notice at a waterlogged cricket pitch, saying it will be better for water polo or synchronised swimming. The notice which reads "Sorry no cricket, only water polo and synchronised swimming" was tied to the railings at Burley Cricket Pitch in the New Forest this morning.
