M40 closed as traffic builds near Oxford due to overturned vehicle and animals in the road

The M40 has been closed in Oxfordshire after a vehicle overturned.

The carriageway has been closed in both directions between Junction 9 and Junction 8a.

National Highways reports disruption can be expected until 19:45 this evening.

Diversion routes are in place.

Traffic monitoring service, TomTom, reports queues of over an hour in the northbound direction.
