Road closed as crews tackle barn fire in East Sussex

Fire crews have spent the night tackling a barn fire in East Sussex which resulted in a major A road being closed.

Firefighters from Newhaven, Seaford, Lewes and Roedean were called to the fire at Beddingham Road in Tarring Neville at 22:45 on Saturday 6 November.

The nearby A26 was closed as a result of the fire. The road has now reopened and the incident has been scaled down to one appliance according to East Sussex Fire and Rescue. The barn is now being allowed to burn with the owner in attendance.

The barn fire is the third incident for the fire service in the last week. On Thursday 4 November Sussex Police tweeted to say they were working alongside fire crews, dealing with an incident on Alfriston Road.

And officers were also called to deal with a barn fire near near Beddingham roundabout on Tuesday 2 November.
