New MBEs update Twitter profiles

London 2012 medallists Natasha Baker and Louis Smith have updated their Twitter profiles with their new titles.

They were formally presented with their honours by the Queen earlier today.

London traffic almost ruins Paralympian's MBE moment

Paralympic champion Natasha Baker almost didn't make it in time to receive her MBE this morning.

She tweeted from her car on the M4, panicking about the traffic. But thankfully she got to Buckingham Palace in time to receive her gong from the Queen.

Louis Smith receives MBE

Olympian Louis Smith, who scooped silver on the pommel horse at London 2012, has described being awarded the MBE as the proudest moment of his life.

The gymnast, who also won a bronze in the men's team competition at the London Games, trains in Basildon in Essex.

Louis forgets Buckingham Palace invite

Olympic silver-medallist Louis Smith has revealed on Twitter that he turned up at Buckingham Palace without his invitation.

The gymnast, who trains in Basildon in Essex, blamed his manager for forgetting it.

Smith will be presented with an MBE today.

After winning a silver and bronze medal in the London 2012 Olympics, he said being chosen for the honour was the proudest moment of his life.

Following the Olympics, Smith won BBC dance series Strictly Come Dancing.
