Second man dies after Thames drowning in Cookham

A man who was taken to hospital after getting into difficulty in a stretch of water connected to the River Thames near Maidenhead has died.

A man who was taken to hospital after getting into difficulty in a stretch of water connected to the River Thames near Maidenhead has died.

At around 7pm on Tuesday,Thames Valley Police were called to an area of water called Lulle Brook, between Odney Lane and Mill Lane, in Cookham, Maidenhead.

It followed reports that two men had been swimming in the water and had got into difficulty.

A member of the public pulled a man in his thirties from the water and he was taken to hospital.

Police have confirmed the 37 year old man, of a Syrian background from Hounslow has since died.

His death is being treated as unexplained and not suspicious.

It comes after police found the body of 31 year old Eyad Al Ryabi, a father of five.

The body of 31 year old Eyad Al Ryabi was found in the river on Wednesday.
