First pictures of the aftermath of the car crash involving David Beckham and his son Brooklyn

First pictures have emerged of the dramatic scene after David Beckham and his son Brooklyn narrowly avoided serious injury in a car crash.

The former England captain was taking his eldest son home from football training when the accident happened outside Arsenal's training ground at London Colney in Hertfordshire

An oncoming silver Mitsubishi collided with his Audi A6 estate on the driver's side and left both cars badly damaged.

Beckham escaped with a minor injury, believed to be to his shoulder, and his son was unharmed.

A woman and her daughter in the other car were treated in hospital for minor injuries after the accident on Saturday morning.

One witness said Beckham gave one of the women his jumper to keep warm as they waited for help.

Both airbags deployed in the Audi.

Before playing for Arsenal, it's thought that Brooklyn was also being monitored by father David's former club Manchester United as well as Chelsea.

David Beckham never played for Arsenal but did train with them last January before his move to Paris St Germain.
