Chaos on the M40 after driver goes wrong way

A man has been has arrested after a car was driven the wrong way down the M40 this morning between Stokenchurch and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. The Mazda 6 collided with six vehicles including a people carrier, a Mercedes and Vauxhall Astra. One eyewitness, Hans Cooper, described how he almost collided head-on with car.

Thames Valley Police said they believe the car was driving at over 70mph. However, they also said that no-one was injured as a result of the collisions.
