Hundreds turn out for Black Lives Matter marches in Liverpool and Bolton
Hundreds of people have joined demonstrations in the North West to support the Black Lives Matter movement.
In Liverpool hundreds of people gathered for a social distancing marchfrom Rialto in Toxteth.
They finished with speeches and demonstrations outside St George's Hall, which was the site of another peaceful protest two weeks ago.
Meanwhile in Bolton around 250 people turned out to what as advertised as a "socially distanced protest" on the Town Hall steps.
Some protesters took the knee during the demonstration in tribute to George Floyd, who died during arrest when his neck was knelt on for more than eight minutes.
His last words were "I can't breathe".
There were reports of some angry scenes between protesters and counter protesters earlier in the afternoon.
Police officers stepped in to separate the two groups and stop any confrontation.
