It's a powerful message 'Black Lives Matter' and it's being heard loud and clear in across our region.

On Tuesday night thousands of people gathered at St George's Hall in Liverpool to show solidarity with protests in America after the death of George Floyd, as he was being arrested by the police.

Another protest is planned for Manchester this Saturday and campaigners are urging us all to call out racism whenever and wherever we find it.

Irene Afful was the first black woman to reach the rank of inspector at Merseyside Police. She gave us her reaction to George Floyd's death at the hands of the police.
