Firefighters spend second night at large fire in Kirkdale warehouse

Dozens of firefighters have spent a second night at the scene of a large fire at a warehouse in Kirkdale.

Crews were called out to Foster Street in the early hours of Sunday where they found two units full of mixed household waste alight.

A multi agency meeting has taken place between MFRS, Merseyside Police, Liverpool City Council, Network Rail, United Utilities and the site owners about how to bring the fire under control.

People in the area were being warned to keep doors and windows shut because of smoke.
