Police search for missing man last seen in Walton

Police in Merseyside are becoming increasingly concerned for the whereabouts of a 51-year-old man who was last seen on Thursday, January 19.

Ian O’Brien was seen in Walton and police are continuing to make extensive enquiries to establish his whereabouts.

He's described as white, 5ft 8in tall, bald with a heavy set build and has a grey stubble and glasses. When last seen he was wearing a dark waterproof jacket, a red or white t shirt, and black tracksuit pants.

He is known to frequent the Leeds Liverpool canal area of Melling and Crosby marina and beach area. He is also known to travel to the Llandudno area of Wales.

His family are appealing for him to make contact with them.

His daughter, Keeley O’Brien said:

The family has released another photo of Ian in the hope that it will prompt a response from the public. Detective Chief Inspector Chris Sephton said:

  • Anyone who has seen or spoken to Ian or knows of his current whereabouts is asked to contact the police immediately on 101 or the Missing Persons charity on 116 000.
