Jersey's Council of Ministers to be chosen
Jersey's Council of Ministers is to be chosen today. The Chief Minister has put his preferences forward, and other States Members can put themselves forward for the roles too.

Chief Minister Senator Ian Gorst says he is happy to have received the backing of the States with regards to his nominations for the Council of Ministers.
He says he is now looking forward to getting to work with his new team.
Deputies unhappy with elected Council of Ministers
Jersey's new Council of Ministers has been assembled but some of those deputies that have missed out on places at the top table are not happy.
All 10 of the seats went to Chief Minister Ian Gorst's nominations, with also those that contested his preferences failing.

Jersey's Council of Ministers decided
Jersey's government have now decided on the make-up of their new Council of Ministers.
All 10 of the seats have gone to the Chief Minister's nominees, meaning all those who have contested his choices have failed.
The full list of the new ministers is as follows:
- Senator Alan Maclean is the new minister for Treasury and Resources
- Senator Lyndon Farnham will take charge at Economic Development
- Deputy Kristina Moore has the top job at the Home Affairs Department
- Senator Sir Philip Bailhache will continue to represent the island as the External Relations Minister
- Senator Andrew Green will take over at the Health Department
- Deputy Eddie Noel will take charge of the Transport and Technical Services Department
- Deputy Susie Pinel will be Social Security Minister
- Deputy Rod Bryans will take charge of the Education, Sport and Culture Department
- Deputy Anne Pryke will take charge of the Housing Department
- Deputy Steve Luce will head the Planning and Environment Department
Deputy Steve Luce elected Planning and Environment Minister
Deputy Steve Luce has been elected Planning and Environment Minister, beating Deputy Carolyn Labey to the seat.
Deputy Luce received 36 votes to Deputy Labey's 10, whilst there were three abstentions.
The result means all 10 seats on the new Council of Ministers have been filled.
All 10 of the positions have been filled by the Chief Minister's preferred choice.
Two candidates up for the role of Planning and Environment Minister
Deputy Steve Luce and Deputy Carolyn Labey will go head-to-head for the role of Planning and Environment Minister.
It will be the final role to be elected to Jersey States new Council of Ministers.
So far all nine seats that have been elected have been the Chief Minister's nominations.
Deputy Anne Pryke is elected Housing Minister
Deputy Anne Pryke has been elected Housing Minister after receiving 25 votes.
Her two opponents Deputy Montfort Tadier and Deputy John Le Fondre got five and 19 votes respectively.
That means that nine of the ten roles in the new Council of Ministers have now been filled and all nine have been the Chief Minister's nomination.

Three candidates up for Housing Minister
Deputy Anne Pryke will have competition from two other candidates for the role of Housing Minister.
The Chief Minister's nomination will face competition from Deputy John Le Fondre and Deputy Montfort Tadier.
Deputy Tadier had earlier stood for the role of Education, Sport & Culture Minister but was beaten by Deputy Rob Bryans.
The candidates will begin giving their speeches to the States when they return from lunch at 1:30pm.
Deputy Susie Pinel elected Social Security Minister
Deputy Susie Pinel has won a three-way battle to become the Social Security Minister in Jersey's States.
Deputy Pinel received 33 votes whereas Deputy Martin and Deputy Southern got 11 and four votes respectively.
That result means the Chief Minister's preferred choice has been chosen in all eight of the elected seats so far.
Three candidates for Social Security Minister
Deputy Geoff Southern and Deputy Judy Martin have put their names forward for the role of Social Security Minister.
They will contest the position with the Chief Minister's preferred choice Deputy Susie Pinel.
The three candidates are currently giving their speeches to the States.
Deputy Rod Bryans elected as Education, Sport & Culture Minister
Deputy Rod Bryans has been elected Education, Sport & Culture Minister by Jersey's States.
He was up against Deputy Montfort Tadier.
The vote was 37 for Deputy Bryans and six for Deputy Tadier.
