Henry Cavill has returned to his home island to celebrate the filming of a new Warhammer 40,000 Amazon series.

The Jersey-born actor posted a picture of him at The Little Shop in St Helier where he began buying Warhammer figurines when he was growing up in the island.

Henry Cavill has been vocal about his Warhammer passion for years, urging people to "take a look" at the world.

Warhammer began as a tabletop miniature wargame in 1983, spawning adaptations in film, novels, and video games.

In 2022, it was announced that Cavill would star in a new Warhammer series with Amazon and Games Workshop.

It has now been reported that the project is in official development for Prime Video.

Cavill took to Instagram to "celebrate" the news, writing: "I decided to make a pilgrimage to the very first place I bought Warhammer models over 30 years ago... the Little Shop, on my home island of Jersey."

Cavill continues: "My incredible team and I, alongside the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, have been working away in concept rooms, breaking down approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world.

"Together, we've been sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts.

"Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe, which has been agreed upon by those up on high at both Amazon and Games Workshop.

"That starting place shall, for now, remain a secret. Watch this space, though—more to come in time!"
