Cancellation of 2020 Muratti Vase and Women's Muratti confirmed

Last season's Muratti Vase competition and Women's Muratti have been officially cancelled, along with the other remaining inter-insular fixtures from 2019/20, the Jersey FA and Guernsey FA have confirmed.

Guernsey's men were due to travel to Alderney for this year's semi-final in March, but that game - along with the final and women's, U16, and U21 clashes - were initially postponed when the pandemic brought sport to a halt across the islands.

Jersey were due to host the 2020 final, alongside the Women's Muratti - which was scheduled to return after four years away - and over-50s and walking football matches.

It has been confirmed that the island will now host next season's showpiece, subject to lockdown and travel restrictions.

The cancellation of the remaining inter-insular fixtures for last season leaves the U18 clash as the only official 'Muratti' played in 2020, with Jersey regaining the trophy on Guernsey soil.
