A Roman fort in Alderney is being reopened after six months of work on the site. It was originally built in the 4th century and was used by Roman soldiers.

It is believed to be the oldest building in the Channel Islands.

Visit Alderney has worked alongside an archaeologist and Festung Guernsey on the renovation.

From today (Saturday 18 July), it will be open every day between 10am and 4.30pm.
