A joint campaign between Guernsey's emergency services and road user groups is reminding people to be safe when out on the roads.

It comes as phase five of lockdown is underway - meaning more traffic is expected.

Guernsey's Police Force says the "mindset of sharing and mutual respect is one we need to remember". The force says it has been working with road user groups, such as walkers, cyclists and drivers because everyone has a "responsibility to behave in a safe and responsible manner".

The Guernsey Velo Club is encouraging its members to "ride with consideration for other road users".

Guernsey Motor Trades Association says as the island has moved out of lockdown it has been "noticeable that the roads have got much busier again" and is encouraging people to be aware of the increase in traffic and "consider all road users and pedestrians when moving around the island".

The Fire and Rescue Service says it does not want to see "a return to “normal” levels of incidents with regards to Road Traffic Collisions".
