His death has lead to demonstrations across the world, with people in Guernsey the latest to call for a change in attitudes.
It is taking at the Quay in St Peter Port.
The Dean of Guernsey has shown his support for the protest, by encouraging Christians in the island to take part. The Very Rev. Tim Barker says the church has not always led conversations around the issue and urged his fellow Christians to join the peaceful demonstration.
A similar protest took place at People's Park in Jersey on 6 June, with hundreds of people kneeling in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.
