'Let babies live' say anti-abortion protestors ahead of government vote on issue
Anti-abortion protesters are outside Guernsey's Royal Court this morning ahead of a government vote on the issue.
Politicians are expected to decide today whether women should be allowed an abortion after their 12th week of pregnancy, and whether to extend the abortion gestation window up to 24 weeks instead - bringing Guernsey in line with the UK.
The Health and Social Care Committee says the current time limit, in the 1997 Abortion Act, is too short, and those who break the rules should not be criminalised.
But those campaigning against the changes are calling for States members to 'choose life' and 'let babies live'.
States members are meeting virtually, meaning no one is actually inside the chamber.
